THE HISTORY OF S&S TEAM SPORTS

S&S Team Sports is a family business that began in 1999 when its owner, Becky Snider, saw a need for custom team uniforms in the Alpharetta, Georgia area.  She began her business out of her house with an order to do recreational uniforms for a local park.  Like many small businesses, S&S became a family endeavor when Becky recruited multiple family members to check in product and individually bag uniforms.  After a travel softball coach asked S&S if it could customize uniforms, Becky jumped into the world of screen printing and sewing.  Word spread and the customized uniform business was up and running. 

As more and more parks and teams asked S&S to customize their uniforms, people also began asking for such accessories as sliding shorts, belts, batting gloves, bats, helmets, and more.  That’s when Becky saw the need for a retail store that would cater to the youth sports market.  The first S&S store opened in Alpharetta on August 1, 2001.  For S&S, customer service is the number one priority.  “I love sports, so I wanted to build a business where I would get to know my customers.  I wanted kids to have a local sporting goods store where they could find what they needed.  It’s a thrill when somebody comes into the store and calls me by name.  Every day we try to improve our customer service.  Our employees are dedicated to helping the customer and making sure we find what they need.”  Through a combination of superior customer service and a wide selection of products, S&S quickly outgrew its 1700-square-foot store and moved to a larger space six months later.  In 2003, S&S expanded again into its current location with 7,200-square-feet of retail space as well as an in-house embroidery machine.  Both stores offer a wide selection of products for not only baseball, but also football, soccer, basketball, lacrosse, wrestling, volleyball, softball and cheerleading.  The launch of the website adds another dimension to S&S Team Sports’ continued efforts to be your complete source for team apparel and athletic accessories for years to come.
